Eat Smart, Move More…NC sponsored the SilverStriders Fun Walk of the NC Senior Games State Finals. Participants walked three laps around a large playing field at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC, as they embraced the Senior Games’ spirit - taking a holistic approach to body, mind and spirit, and staying fit while enjoying the company of friends, family, spectators and volunteers.
In the Fall of each year, qualifiers from the 52 Local Senior Games across North Carolina gather to compete against the “best of the best” in the state. This year, nearly 3,000 individuals ages 55-101 registered for the State Finals.
NC Senior Games began in 1983 with a vision to create a year-round health promotion and education program for North Carolinians 55 years of age and better. Today, there are over 60,000 participants in 52 Local Games programs that serve all 100 counties across the state. Learn more about Senior Games at seniorgames.org.
