Buncombe County Health Center

Buncombe County Health Center envisions a downtown Asheville in which physical activity and healthy eating are the norms. Funds received from the grant will be used for Downtown On the Move, a program to promote healthy worksite policies within businesses in the downtown area and to encourage workers to walk, bike, or run to work and when doing errands.

The ESMM Community Grants Program provides funding to local communities to implement strategies that advance the goals and objectives of the Eat Smart, Move More NC Plan.

Funding is awarded yearly, based on availability of funds. The RFA is generally released in May, with funding distributed to grant recipients in September.
