Motivational interviewing (MI) is a relatively new cognitive-behavioral technique that aims to help patients identify and change behaviors that may be placing them at risk of developing health problems or that may be preventing optimal management of a chronic condition. The following resources may be useful for working with patients to develop healthy eating and physical activity behaviors and to achieve a healthy weight.
